Fatih University in Istanbul, Turkey

Fatih University is a private (foundation) university mainly located in Büyükçekmece, Istanbul, Turkey. The university was established in 1996 by the Turkish Association of Health and Medical Treatment. The ninth President Suleyman Demirel was present at the formal inauguration of the University in November 1996.
Fatih University is founded with the purpose of teaching science and technology, both vitally important to the country’s development, and to support studies regarding the two. Founded by Turkish Association of Health and Medical Treatment in order to create modern scientific environments as in other institutions of higher education, Fatih University aims at providing education for Turkish people so that they can do their best for Turkey’s future. In its full fledged laboratories where rapid and easy access to the most recent information is available, the University is in the pursuit of providing the youth with modern facilities in the all fields of sciences, engineering and social sciences, aiming to educate people who will contribute to the scientific and technological enhancement of the country.Fatih University has six faculties: Faculty of Education, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, School of Medicine, three graduate institutes and four vocational schools located on three campuses. The School of Medicine, School of Nursing, Vocational School of Medical Studies, and School of Vocational Studies are to be found in Ankara. Courses are conducted in English at the University and students are encouraged to learn an additional foreign language.
